Infants have an innate sense of curiosity—eager to explore the world around them while delighting in every discovery they make.
From the moment infants are born, they are ready to learn through meaningful interactions with their caregivers. At Westcliff Early Learning Academy, each child is free to explore using their senses while developing their physical and cognitive skills in our secure and caring environment.
We recognize that these first few years are a sensitive period for brain development, emotional growth, and language acquisition. Our teachers are infant care specialists who form a close bond with the children while nurturing body awareness, movement exploration, and communication skills.
Our infant environments have many elements of a home, including a rich, natural outside environment. There are separate areas for sleeping, playing, eating, and diaper changing. There are no playpens or walkers.
We provide a soothing, warm, and caring environment that encourages exploration. Babies love to move, and our open floor areas facilitate gross-motor development. There is room for crawling, short risers to climb, and low shelves to allow easy access to materials.
Teachers observe infants as they master new skills and gain independence. At the right moment, they carefully provide more complicated learning materials with various shapes, sounds, and textures for infants to explore safely.
Teachers create and implement a care plan for each child’s individual stage of development, and parents are provided with a daily report.
Children have daily experiences with art and music, and there are consistent schedules and routines.

Our Parent and Me program offers a rich and supportive learning environment for infants and toddlers. Participants are involved in circle time, group activities including songs, playing instruments, dramatic play, puppets, bubbles, and group discussions.
Classes are designed to assist children and caretakers in developing sign language, sensory exploration, and muscle coordination. Social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth is fostered through a balanced, developmentally based program. The best part is you can be there to enjoy your little one laugh, tumble, and engage while we provide a setting for them to grow!
